I've done Super Friends boxes before but those were basically just using artwork from the "Challenge of..." Era, primarily the style guides. So I wanted something more dynamic, instead of those static poses.
The old Super Friends coloring book was just what I needed!

The images are definitely more "kid friendly" than regular comic art or Mego art. Everyone is smiling and happy! (Except for Robin....probably because he didn't get much face-time in the aforementioned coloring book)The design itself is pretty much standard Mego with a couple of variations....like the character logo at the bottom of the window to allow the Super Friends logo to be properly displayed at the top. And I went with Ledy stock numbers since the Ledys heads are what prompted me to do SF figures in the 1st place.
The side cameos were a bit of a dillema....do I keep it 3 and 3 and add a 6th Super Friend? Who? Green Lantern? An obvious Ledy choice but if Mego did these during the 1st run of the Super Friends, GL was nowhere to be seen. Flash, Atom and Green Arrow all appeared before he did. Hmmmmm, how about 3 and 2? The World's Finest team is a no-brainer to appear on one side and Aquaman and Wonder Woman on the other brings back memories of many a secret flight aboard the Invisible Plane together.

OK, let's go with that. (And if there IS a Ledy GL head coming along....and I'm sure there will be....I can do a box with GL, Flash, Hawkman (Challenge era) and add Atom, Green Arrow and Plastic Man to round it off. No ethnic-enforced substitute heroes here!
