Kitbash Flash (Gordon)

Had the day off and got to playing around with some parts and came up with this. Nothing special, but I thought it looked cool and was made from readily available parts.



Helmet:EMCE Romulan (If I had a more accurate head I would have gone without the helmet)
Boots: Dr. Zaius glyph boots, but I think I'll replace with Castaway boots.
Weapons: Sword from Captain Action, pistol from Dr. Evil.
Sword Belt: taken off of a CTVT Will Scarlet.
Yellow sash made from heavy ribbon with a snap.
Red CTVT body suit cut off at the thighs.
Nehru pants from Castaway toys.
Castaway body.

What head did you use? I think that the Romulan helmet is perfect for this job.

Everything goes together nicely, and the boots aren't too bad.

I started out trying to cobble together a Jay Garrick Flash, but I didn't have the right boots on hand. I really think the pants for the Nehru outfit available on Castaway's site work pretty well for a Golden Age Flash when paired with a red shirt. I need to get some red Conan boots and I can finish that out. When I realized I didn't have the right boots for Flash, I went in the Flash Gordon direction because the basic outfit was there and they are similar.

I threw the Romulan Helmet on him because I didn't have a head that would work for Flash Gordon. I'm going to see about getting a resin Flash Gordon head in 8" scale, though. However, the head I used on this one was an extra CTVT Will Scarlett head and I think that would work very well for a Jay Garrick Flash.

I think I'm going to try to modify a Chips helmet because that would be closer to the Mego Flash Gordon look. Doc has some of the other parts to finish it out, but I think I will keep the Dr. Evil pistol.
