I'll be updating this thread as I get more practice in painting. I'll try to take a before photo and an after photo.

My first project on this thread is Bruce Lee. He is a resin cast. It's gotten to the point of, "I'd better stop now or I might mess this up," because I keep wanting to tweak it. I'm going to seal the paint tomorrow and let it dry so I can mail him out Monday. I'll try to take a photo of him in natural light tomorrow. I just wanted to focus on his eyes, because I was lucky again and I was able to make the paint behave, and the photos I'll post won't be so in his face.

Great work! I really like the detail you got in the eyes, especially around the edges. Well done!

After. I barely touched his eyes but I made his irises a bit larger so the blue was not as piercing as before.

I was not happy with Kirk's left eye so I ended up re-doing both...as well as adding more paint on his face and hair. So basically, he's been redone. Macros are so cool. They can help you see things that you can't with the naked eye. I learned that from Mr. Geeb-o-Rama.

I am still not satisfied with Bruce Lee. I'm going to futz with him until I get him right. The only thing left to do now is rework his pupils and his hairline. If you look closely, I also did minor eyelid surgery on his left eyelid.


Back in mid-June he looked like this. I thought he was done but he was too pink and needed more flesh/orange tones on his skin.
