    MegoMeet Dr. Doom

Castaway Toys Sponsored a "kitbash" customs contest on Saturday and this is what I threw together in a few hours. You wouldn't believe the amount of help that I got on this guy. Chris Johnson won the contest but I had one of the best times of my life putting this guy together! Special thanks to Tom/Wannabemego (who scavenged for me), Steve Moore (who lent me paints and other items), Brian (bliet) for the cape, Dr. Mego for selling me some cool parts, Brue for his CTVT knight, and of course David Lee & Jason for parts and the cool prizes!!
    Anyway enjoy . . . note the use of Jason's Phantom Throne . . . it rocks!!
-jim (more to come of megomeet tomorrow!)

That was definitely a highlight of the weekend. Seeing you off in that corner with some paint and a mini-dremel made me realize I shouldn't even enter a figure of my own.

    Totally cool figure.

I think you may have Steve Moore confused with me. He's the charming, handsome one.

Wow. I saw the post about that contest and you description makes me think now that it was like Junkyard Wars for Megos!

                    Scavenging to build a custom...

Awesome. Can you get the winner to post a pic somewhere? Can you get someone to post a thread with the entries...?

Congrats on that figure and thanks for posting.

Yeah, all I remember of Jim the whole show was him hunkered down in that corner working away. It would have been cool to just sit and watch how he did it all. Would have been a great customs class 101!

After seeing your Doom, I decided not to enter my "naked, headless guy" into the contest.

                        Great figure Jim -

It was a cool contest. The goblet was an awesome idea that truly made the figure stand out from the others. It truly was like "Mego Custom Wars". The picture doesn't do it justice, it looks even better in person. Great job Jim.
It's not a doll it's an action figure.

That is indeed one of the best Doom's I've ever seen. The goblet really adds that special touch of KIRBY ARROGANCE to ol' Victor. Nice pattern idea for the green outfit..!

If he was created by Mego back in the day, I would have kept collecting Megos for a few more years, with him and the FF. Geez, I'm just thinking about the battles he could have had with Cap, Ironman, and Thor..

I still wonder why he wasn't included in the final line of figures made, but this rendition is IMPRESSIVE!
