    Mego presents: Steve Austin

    The Six Million Dollar Man

Head by Black Knight (thanks Jason); vintage Mego Type 2 body; jacket and pants by CTVT; shirt by Dr. Mego; belt by GI Joe...customized to fit; decal from scratch; shoes by Fonzie ; and, saving the best for last, this awesome box created by Toy Room (you rock Anthony).

Steve next to one of his vintage comic magazines which were staples on every comic shelf in the 70's.

The more I thought about it, the more I felt like the classic Kenner "motor" was actually more in scale with a Mego than the Kenner 12 inch figure. I always thought he looked like he was lifting a VW motor. A mego makes it look a little more engaging... like a V8?

I envisioned Mego selling the motor as a seperate accessory.

No Steve Austin is complete without his team mates...

And, of course, you can't forget his ultimate team mate...and opponent.

Well there you go. My vision of the Six Million Dollar Man. I decided to go after his basic look on the show and to embrace certain themes from the Kenner version while keeping him more in line with Mego's pattern. Thanks again to Anthony, Jason, Dr. Mego, and CTVT for allowing this personal dream to come true.

Thanks to everyone who has responded. This is my first "officially" completed custom so I was happy to hear from those who posted feedback. It's encouraging. I have two more I'm working on and should be completed soon. Thanks again for everyone's support. It's very much appreciated.

Very nice!!! Yeah, you gotta do the rest of the bionic crew now. I don't think anyone's ever done a 8 inch bigfoot yet!

My next two customs are nearing completion but are not part of the SMDM line. However, I am happy to report that Big Foot and Oscar Goldman are in the development stage. I have a very strong idea for Bigfoot and his head will be my own sculpt. So keep checking in.
