I was not sure about the chest bolts, I have seen it both ways. I agree with the yellows. I could not find the exact colors I wanted so I opted to make all the bolts the same yellow and all the clothes the same yellow. As far as the hands, all my parts are cast in a very light blue, so the hands are actually painted yellow as well. seen to have a very hard time photographing both yellows and reds.

The Lightening on the chest should come down to a point and not be squared off at the top of the trunks. The lightening mask looks great, but should be a tad smaller. And, if you incorporate a more rounded design (like in the Ditko drawing) it will have a more graceful appearance.
It would be good if all of the yellows were more consistant. It's difficult to do, but perhaps a Liquitex acrylic paint (with acrylic gel medium as a primer) on the trunks, boots, and gloves would match the plastic appearence of the lightening details. Finally, the hands look like they were cast yellow. It's a great time saver, unfortunatly the cast parts tend to be translucent. They just don't look real and you can't see the details. A little paint will solve that problem.

^^ I've always maintained that John's figures look WAY better in person than they do in the pictures. Not that he takes bad pictures....it's just that you have to hold and pose these figures to "get it."

I had the same problem with various greens on a 3D Man custom. Matching colors is a bear. That's why I've gone to making boots and gloves out of a thin lambskin and then painting them to match the fabric.
Regarding the hands, good on you. One of the things that bug me about commercial toys is cast red and yellow parts and the translucent quality they have. There's no weight to them.
        Hey! Check out the pictures.

Can't believe no-ones said it yet, but he's electrifying!!!!

Really nice job. You don't really see this guy that often as a custom, and you did him justice.
