    Two Customs Revisited

These are a couple of older customs that I have recently tweeked up a bit. I found a strip of gold adhesive buttons at Joanne's Fabrics that seem to fit and work perfectly for the Phantom Stranger & Martian Manhunter. Every once in a while I think it pays off to go back and look over how you could have done something better.

They look nice. I agree with you on that as I often look back on previous customs and plan upgrades.

Nice to see you again. I always enjoyed your comments and posts.

Nice! Those buttons would work well for Dr. Doom, too.

I like the CTVT tux on Stranger & their blue pirate boots are perfect for MM as well.
WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.

Very nice Scott. They look sharp. I had a helluva time finding some of those, ended up getting a gold plated one for a Superman custom as that was all I could find but he is worth it

Great figures! I don't know what they looked like before but these are an A+ I agree with you about sometimes going back and looking at older work and improving it. It shows that we've learned and got better at our craft.

Ah ok. Here's what they looked like originally. My original version of the Phantom Stranger had rather large klunky buttons (which were often referred to as "pie plates"). At the time they were the only things I could find that would work. The Martian Manhunter went through a complete overhaul. Once Doc M was able to provide green bodies I knew the time was right to change him. I got rid of the jumpsuit, modified a Hasbro 9" Martian Manhunter chest harness and got rid of the sad cape that I had made. I was never happy with either of these two customs until finding the strip of adhesive buttons. It's those little details that sometimes make all the difference.
