Just came from Steve's House and WOW!!! I saw this one and all his other ST customs and believe me,..his figures are truly a work of art! The details on their outfits and accessories are so top notch! This is truly a labor of love,..nothing is missed here, from head to toes,..and the cards give them that mego-like nostalgic look! I tip my hat to his wife and him on such great custom figures,..makes you want to,.."COLLECT EM ALL"Comment

Thanks Ray and Spiderrogue, that is very nice of you to say
I guess I should post pics of a few new ones then...
My wife said that the Amok Time set has been an especially fun set to work on.
These 3 are obviously not finished yet but they give you a sneak peak at some of the latest five card "set" that my wife also thinks is an especially fun set that we have been working on:
Capt. Kirk: "Is there anyone on this ship, who even remotely, looks like Satan?"
Mr. Spock: "I am not aware of anyone who fits that description, Captain"
Capt. Kirk: "No, Mr. Spock, I didn't think you would be"Comment

cwilfing,
There are a variety of ways to do this. Obviously I can only speak first hand on the way(s) I do it.
One way is I use a type of sculpty molding clay by DAS and create the added features on the head before a touch up the head with paint or even do a total repaint.
Another way is I use a rotary tool similar to a Dremel to work on to modify the head before any paint is used.
These are of course just two of many different techniques I use.
I have two or three different techniques I use most of the time depending of course on the character and what available heads I have or can find at the time to work with.
And in some cases I will use more than one technique on a specific head to achieve the look my wife and I want.
For example, this started out as a vintage Mego Klingon head.
Now after some reworking and some paint it has been transformed from the look of a Klingon into the look of the Vulcan Stonn as seen in Amok Time:

What kind of features do you want to add? There's only so much resculpting that these heads can take, if they're vintage.
With female heads, the easiest/hardest/mind-numbing thing to do is reroot the hair.
The eyes can be painted over, or if you're lazy, use appropriate sized decals of eyes. For those, go to archertransfers.com.
Ears are tricky, but not impossible. They can be done with SuperSculpey.
As to any other kind of features like tails, extra arms, etc. There are others on this board who can answer your question better than I can.
I hope this information helps.JediJaidaComment

Altering an existing head
Thanks for the quick response, basically what I want to do is use a Richie Cunningham head and alter it to look like Kevin Riley, since they both have a similar shaped face and their hair is about the same. What I'm wondering about is whether or not it's safe to put the head in the oven after I've added the sculpey.Comment
