Well, this is the fourth week in my Famous Covers to Mego conversion/operation.
I had to turn to Paul Clark (Dr. Mego) for some pretty interesting advice on how to make these nice Famous Covers heads into perfect heads for mego sized bodies. He came up with a pretty cool idea with making homemade neck plugs out of super sculpey and boiling water. I was amazed on how it turned out and how well these heads turn left to right as if they were actual mego heads turned into the hole.
The trick with Nightcrawler was removing the hand and feet pins and removing the hands and feet. I decided to use a CTVT's body because the body is much smaller and the pins fit perfect into the sockets when sliding the Nightcrawler big feet and hands into place.
Sadly, the black body suit I got from somebody on this board that originally used it for a Black Manta figure. I could not get the glue out of the top part of the torso without wrecking it. So I just let it be after some failed attempts. It really isn't that bad.
After a long hour of trying to "perfect" this feet/hands pin transformation task, it finally worked! I jumped up and down with joy! aaaaggghh!!
Nightcrawler.

Then, I attempted to utilize the neat Storm head and outfit. I once again used a brown female CTVT's body. It took me hours to re-sand and mend the cracked body body it did it. Then I took the Famous Covers storm head and filled it with wood glue and let it rest on the head stump for an hour. When it dried, it completely sealed and it turns left to right with no issues.
Taking in the outfit was a trick but I did that. Along with some black Dr. Mego boots I extended with some fabric and shiny black fabric paint to give it that long thigh high look.

They are perfect Mego size now. Here they are compared with some of my old X-Men I did awhile ago to show how good they look next to Cyclops and my classic Beast.
I am going to post a full X-Men photo in a few days. I needed to solve my Nightcrawler dilemma without giving someone my first born for some tiny sized mego feet and hand casts. I think it really depends on the artist but the majority artist who draw Nightcrawler make his feet and hands big. So, who knows...I could be right or wrong. I hope my daughter will be happy when she sees them. I am keeping them from her until after the New Year as a surprise!
Problem solved!
