A few weeks ago I had won on eBay a custom Nomad figure. When it arrived it was in bad shape being damaged in shipping due to no packing, plus it was not as close in detail or in size as I had thought. So I tossed it and decided to try and make my own. I had already contacted Anthony at the Toy Room for a Aliens Nomad card so I knew I had better get busy as the card was only days away from arriving at that point.
So I walked around a few toys stores and hardware stores and finally found all of the pieces I thought I could create a Nomad out of. I picked up a few Mega Blocks, some plastic tile separators, a small section of a PVC pipe, a couple small headed tack nails, a couple small washers and a brush handle. A few hours of work on the handle with my hand held rotary cutter/sander, then some other custom pieces cut, sanded and then gluing, assembling it all together.
Then a few coats of metallic paint:
and then some painted light up screens details and I now have a custom Mego style Nomad figure. Here he is on display with my new Deeda Enterprise displayset (Thanks again Scott!):
And here he is on his new custom blister card (thanks again Anthony!):
This is my first custom figure made totally from scratch so please be kind
