Thank you all for your praise. The belt, boots, and bracelets are barbarian" repo from Dr Mego. The sword is from a pirates of the caribian figure, the pistol is from the marvel legends nick fury. The harness I made from the make your own jewelry section at Micheals and a plastic plate. The strap and buckles are from RIO Rondo. The holster I had from leather pieces.
I would have shown more of Anthony box but i had no more space in my gallery. I will see if i can reduce my picture sizes and make more room.
John Carter, to my eyes, is one of the most iconic characters from pulp, and ultimately a touchstone for the entire sci-fi genre... One could say Burrough's works are the source from which most of all other galactic opera draws from, from Star Wars to Avatar, and whatever you might think of in the middle.
I love this custom. Simple, yet quite effective... Thanks for sharing.
I never got into John Carter of Mars, or even Tarzan (except for all of the movies!)
My dad though, he grew up reading that stuff as a kid, along with the Lone Ranger, and like any kid he was nuts about them.
This is a great figure!
At first, I thought it looked a little too busy with all of the accessories, but then, after closer examination, I realized that the accessories were just perfect! Nicely painted and detailed, the head is properly in scale and the weapons are spot on.
A pair of leather boots in that scale would really have sent it over the top, but the plastic ones are much more sturdy.
What kind of paints did you use on the barbarian stuff from Doc?
