Playmates 9" conversion

So a 9" Playmates head fits perfectly on the 2018 Mego body male neck post.









A lot of people stop here, but the 2018 Mirror Spock look bugs me too much. I am going to pop the seams and resew everything for a better fit.

This is good to know, I've been wanting to use the playmates heads for customs and if they fit nicely on the new mego bodies, that's great, thanks for the info.

Quick question? can the heads turn on those bodies? a little ways back, I made a custom Talosian using the playmates head on a mego body, but I had to glue the head on, so it doesn't move.

Fully functional - fits like it was made for it. Warm it up and pop it on.

So basically it's not a shrunk playmates head...you just popped it off of the playmates figure and put it on the new Mego body?

Correct. It's slightly smaller than EMCE Pike, so I don't think I am going to bother with the acetone dunk. It's in the allowable "john/ponch range" as far as I am concerned:-)

I wonder if it would be possible to get female heads on somehow? The Playmates sculpt for their 9” Uhura is fantastic.

I have a shrunk Captain's Woman head on an original Mego body. It fits great, as a shrink. Full size was too big, in my opinion. She just needs to get painted, which I can't do anymore. An Uhura shrink would be awesome!

I used the naphtha shrink method, which requires no repainting. As pointed out in the thread, the new Mego body should make it even better.
