WIP: My first attempt at sculpting a head: Darth Malgus

As a huge Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and Star Wars: The Old Republic fan (and a Star Wars fan in general) I wanted to pay homage to both games by building customs of the main Sith Lords in each title and so, I am starting with Darth Malgus from The Old Republic first.

I wanted to wait until I had the head completely sculpted before I posted pics but, my wife has encouraged me to post my progress on it so far.

    Day 1 (Sunday 7/6):

    Day 2 (Monday 7/7):

I like where this going! Nice work so far!
"It's sad that governments are chiefed by the double tongues. There is iron in your words of death for all Comanche to see, and so there is iron in your words of life. No signed paper can hold the iron. It must come from men. The words of Ten Bears carries the same iron of life and death. It is good that warriors such as we meet in the struggle of life... or death. It shall be life."

Thank you, I appreciate the encouragement. I worked on it some more today, focusing on finishing the parts of his breathing apparatus that wrap around to the fixture on the back of his head. With this part done I can now shift my efforts to building up his cheeks, forehead and ears.

          Day 4 (Wednesday 7/9):

I really like the pictures that show his progress. If this is your first head sculpt you are a natural at it. Nice job.

Wow, thank you so much for that compliment. I have messed with Sculpey before to make props for a failed stop-motion animation venture I entered into with some friends a few years back but, this is my first real attempt at sculpting a head.

I am pleased with how he has turned out so I put him in the oven to harden this morning. The neck plug broke off and crumbled but will I fashion a new one out of Magic Sculpt and once my order of OOMOO arrives I will mold and cast him.

Again, thanks to everyone for your words of encouragement as that builds my confidence to continue sculpting. And, as mentioned earlier next up is Darth Revan.
