Disco Vader

I bought a minimal VAder custom on eBay and experimented with stripping parts off an applause Vader and combining the two.

It's not up to the standards of most of the customs shown on the board, but it's a decent start on a placeholder until I find a better one.

Any suggestions on improvements would be appreciated.

The ONLY thing I'd change is the direction the "shoulder pads" are facing. It looks like they're pointing up. If they faced down then you'd have a solid Vader custom.

Other then that, he looks amazing bring him to the meet for all to admire.

Great start! Actually, if the chest armor was re shaped a little, I'd say he's done.
Maybe a heat gun will warm the armor up enough to reshape it a little?

I would heat up my exacto knife with a candle and then cut the plastic like butter!

I concur -- the figure is perfectly fine, aside from those chest/shoulder panels (IMHO). Another option might be to remove (and SAVE!) the chest control panel, and sew new shoulder armor out of black vinyl. Reattach the control panel via a neck strap, or to the underside of the new vinyl armor.

You might also wish to consider a short length of chain (check in a hobby store's DIY jewelry section) to attach acrosss the front to the cloak halves; nonfunctional, but would resemble the movie costume.
