The Bat-Man (My work in progress.) 1/6 scale custom

This is my version of The Bat-Man.
Basing him from Detective comics #36

Still need to finish his gauntlets Boot tops and Make a proper utility Belt.

Here's a couple pics so far.

I would appreciate any help on how to make the boots and gauntlets.
Probably not gonna go with a bright yellow belt, thinking more of a darker brownish yellow.

Holy moly, that's great!!! As far as the boots and gauntlets, you could do pleather sew ons like the DC Mattel Megos. They had those on lex Luther's uniform and the come down just to the hands.Might work for the boot tops too just sew them in the back.

that looks really cool! I keep thinking about starting a 12" custom just to try something different, seeing things like this just makes it more and more tempting

Tried out a different belt. From the DC 9in Masterpiece edition.
Still plan to make a different Belt.

I think it's exciting! Quite a beautiful base, IMO. I have shiny black sticky paper that I cut out to visualize my gantlets and top-of-boots. I'm wondering if this idea might help.

for the belt, go to War-Toys.com or toyanxiety and see what you can cobble together. They part out 12 inch figures.

                05/05/14 progress

So did some more work on my Bat-Man.
Mocked up some Gauntlets out of Duct tape.

Then I found these in my parts bin. They come from a 9 inch dc Batman fig. But the style I'm going for doesn't have the fins. First time he had the fins was Detective #37

So working on the belt and was wondering if I could get some people opinion.
I cut this piece of leather and was wondering if it looks to wide?
Or should I got with the same width as the DC 9 inch belt.

I like the wider belt, it allows for actual pockets to be sewn onto them.
You obviously know your stuff, so I think a custom "fully functional" belt is definitely possible.

When finished, he is going to look absolutely fantastic, great job!

No pockets on this belt. It will have the capsules for the correct 39/40's look.

I'm just winging it. This is my first custom. Figuring things out as I go.

I looking for a darker leather More brown then do the buckle and capsules in gold or copper color.

I know he had a yellow belt but think a darker belt would be more correct.
