    Italian Batman

Thanks to PNGwynne for the advice to Rit dye an original Mego Batman head black. Took two attempts, but I so happy with the results. Once dyed, both the eyes and flesh darken considerably. Repainted both with acrylic miniture paints and seal on with a brushable matt coating.
Sticker and cape by LaserMego. Belt by DrMego. CTVT gloves and bodysuit.I'm not sure about the boots and shorts.

The paint dyed? Oops, sorry. I had not had that happen, but admittedly I didn't try black.

I think he looks terrific--I like the black & red, reminds me pleasantly of SuperArgo.
WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.

It may have taken two attempts at dyeing it black, but I dyed this head three times.
Until this process, I had only dyed 3 CTVT lab coats dark brown.
First attempt: Using the dark brown Rit dye (I had on hand), I used salt, acetone and dye. 15 minute simmer.= Head came out dark green.
Second attempt: Using black Rit dye, salt, acetone. 25 minute simmer.= Head came out navy-blue.
Third attempt: Using black Rit dye, salt. No acetone. 45 minute simmer.= Head came out black.
Having used acetone in the first two attempts, and not in the third, may have something to do with the original paint dyeing. I did learn that simmer time and stirring are most important. Thanks for your assistance on this project.

You're welcome--I've never heard of adding acetone, although I always add salt.

              Acetone was my stupid idea.
