My attempt at Dr Fate

Here is my attempt to create a Dr Fate. In keeping with the Mego mentality I tried to use as many existing pieces as possible.

Head is unpainted and I'm not 100% sure I am going to stay with the CTVT rubber gloves. I like them but they seem too modern looking. Maybe I'll try some Yellow oven mitts or yellow hands and sew some yellow cuffs on the body suit.

Other than that I'm sure everyone will recognize the various pieces; Conan's belt (which unfortunately broke into three pieces in the mail from Dr Mego and is held on with a bit of double sided tape, King Arthur's medallion, etc ...

Looking good so far.... If you were going for the Mego vibe, I'm sure ovenmits would suffice. Who'd you get the jumpsuit from?

Looks good, I like the medallion. I used the same gloves on mine, but I do think the spell casting hands would look best on this character.

Looks good. I am always torn over the oven mitt debate. Oven mitts are more "right" in my eyes, but I don't like the look.

On the last Dr. Fate that I did, I cut the fists off of the yellow CTVT gloves and made them gauntlets. You have to repaint the cut edges though.

My first ever custom was DR. Fate, and this is far better than what I produced. I think it's 99 percent awesome. If you can get some white paint on a toothpick and get him some eyes, this figure will be perfect. I think the oven mitts are a nice touch on this. I would not hesitate to purchase a figure like this off the pegs. Very cool stuff.
