Tony Stark with "functioning" Arc Reactor

Alright, so it's been a bit of a drought for me in terms of customs.
I've had a couple of things I have been waiting to finish, and building a catalog of parts I needed to do so.
I tend to order parts from all our awesome providers (Dr Mego, Laser Mego, and Classic TV) in batches. Saves on shipping, and forces me to really decide on what I want to do, rather than following fleeting fancies.
Anywho, while working on creating a couple of MC Bat Commanders for my nieces, I stumbled upon some awesome custom parts.

The Night Ize Frisbee Golf light, on clearance at REI right now.

I figured it would be perfect for the following custom:

Now Stark is done, although the shirt was just intended as a test for me to see how well my hole punch and grommet clamp worked.
You see, I have a repro Iron Man suit from a Iron Man restore that I turned out not to need (I found out I am not awful at sewing
So, the next phase is to add a gold grommet to the Iron Man costume, and then put him in a suit with open dress shirt.

Then, I am only a few props away from replicating this iconic cover (not necessarily the goal, but I like being able to do fun stuff like that):

That might be one of the coolest custom jobs i have seen. Did you use a fiber optic light?

              Thanks everyone!
It is an led designed to attach to a frisbee. What I like is that it fits tightly into a standard Mego body with a large hole cut into the back of the torso. I will upload photos of the back in the next day or so. And it is a simple push button to activate, so just pushing my thumb in the back turns it on, or off. Also, the whole contraption is self contained with replaceable batteries. So I just pull out the light rig to replace them and then pop it back in. I'll post photos of the rig as well.
I just finished a Skeletor (posted in the sticky Finished Customs thread) and am working on a World War II Steve Rogers.
Considering doing a Bruce Banner, but only if I can ever get ahold of a Hulk.

yup, that is a neat idea. I'd like to see more customs with built-in gimmicks like that.

Well, below you can see the light contraption and Tony's open torso. To the left, you can see the light in its package.
                        photo.jpgimage.jpg

Here are images of Tony with the repro suit as I mark where the hole will go. The one photo makes it look like the hole is completely unnecessary. The second photo shows what it looks like in person. I am still hesitant to put the grommet in, as I would love to keep the suit intact. What can I say, I'm a cheapskate and like to be able to repurpose old customs from time to time.

Tony Stark Arc Reactor and Final Suit

Alright, I burned through the trepidation and put a hole in the suit. Unfortunately, the grommet tool I had was too cheap to do it right. So one quick trip to the hardware store later, and viola!
                            Tony Stark mid transformation!
