Well gang...this is it. My first attempt at a Mego custom. While I'm excited to see BBP's SMDM line, Steve Austin himself left me a little cold. This just wasn't the figure I'd dreamed of, so I decided to build my own.
Starting with a ZICA body, I added an all new show accurate sculpted head color cast in rubber, but had to graft a Buck Rogers neck plug onto it since the original wouldn't fit. Next up was painting the red shorts to match the old Kenner figure. I wanted it to look like factory paint. Next up was carefully creating recessed compartments in the limbs to house the bionics, which are being kitbashed from various model kits with real wires, etc. being added for ultra detail. Each leg will have different upper and lower compartments as will the right arm. The iris of the left eye will be drilled out to accommodate a transparent blue light pipe.
