    Mr. Mxy(howeveryouspellit)ptlk

This may be considered more of a kitbash than a custom and it's Not everyone's favorite Superman villain. In fact, mego couldn't have picked a much lamer villain of the Man of Steel (Prankster maybe). They also made him tall and fat, when he was little and skinny in the comics. Well here's a solution. I was surprised at how well the Mxy head fits on an Our Gang-type body.

Now, I've got to figure a way to shrink that Mxy suit to pixie size. Probably be easier to call for Mr. Leitner's help.

Oooooo! I like where this going! A Leitner suit would be perfect.

I always thought the Myxy bendy figure was perfect for Mego scale. They could have just popped him into the box with Superman and made a two-pack. Neither 8" version looks anything like the comic adaptation. When I did mine I thought about using the smaller body but opted for the Titans body. Maybe I'll do another someday. Brian did my suit and it came out perfect.
It's not a doll it's an action figure.

While I don't agree that Mxyzptlk is a lame Superman villain. I do believe the Mego version had it's problems. Paramount, being the 8 inch body size. Looks like you solved that problem.
Although I don't speak for the Mego Museum, I've always considered kit-bashing, re-costuming and repainting (as well as original sculpting), forms of customizing.
Do the 8 inch purple hands work with this child size body?

I haven't tried the hands. I only have a T1 Myx. I took a chance on the head on eBay after comparing the size of an 8 inch mego head with the our gang heads. Looking at the arms on the small figure, you might need to shave the end of hands down to fit. But I think the hands would look oversized even if you could get them on. Painting is probably the best choice.

^This is exactly the custom Mxy I've been pondering for years--I'm so anxious to see how he turns out!!!

(I really like Mxy in general & even Mego Mxy, but I never thought he should be on a fat body. Even a standard 8-in. would've been better)

I was consideing the Alfalfa body, and altering a Mego suit. I thought I might dye to purple & trim repro TT boots, as well, and perhaps use a repro Speedy belt...

I figured I'd have to paint the hands, maybe substitute LR-scale ones.

The big head is perfect for imp characters IMO.

              Can Bat-MIte be far behind?

I was thinking of the purple hands offered on supply sites. I have no child size mego body to compare. Painting the hands may be just the right way to go. I only wondered because big heads, hands and feet are characteristics of dwarf proportions.

So simple, I wonder why no one thought of this earlier?

I used the CTVT 8 inch purple hands on a lionrock body and they looked fine. They are smaller in size than original Mego or EMCE hands.
