    My Second Custom Project...

...Is almost done. It's Mercion from the LJN D&D line. I made a cloak and hood for her, but I'm not a fan of the way it came out (I'm going to remake it in a different fabric).

She is a standard Mego female body, with CTVT brown hands, A Breyer girl head, that I had to repaint (as I had sanded her original eyes off for another custom project that I never finished, also changed her lips to a pink, instead of the red they were). She has CTVT chain maille suit, CTVT brown boots, knee and thigh armor is a pair of customized knight boots, with some silvery vinyl for shoulder armor. She has stitched up costume pieces (tunic, glove cuffs and boot tops by me) and an old metal clasp for a belt buckle. Her mace/staff is still also a wip, the head of it is a D&D Ogre King mace that was broken in two (I've repainted it).

    The infamous cloak...

Toy art from the original action figure package...

Ditch the cloak, it just doesn't do anything for the overall look of the figure.

I like the repaint of the eyes and lips you did. It really improves the look of the doll.

Excellent work on the outfit, although that yellow tunic stands out a bit too much.

Overall, I'd just change the cloak and tunic to deeper colors to match the brown elements.

Like Ultrasuede for the tunic and cloak. You can always find remnants of the stuff in some fabric stores.

Or maybe fake snakeskin for the tunic and a slightly shabby looking brown wool for the cloak.

The concept is great, although I was never into Dungeons and Dragons as a kid. I went to an all girls school, and no one had ever heard of it; much less played it.

I like it! I think you did some really genius re-engineering for the body armour. I too am not too familiar with the D&D universe, But I would imagine the color scheme on the outfit matches the charactors as well as the overall design.

Thank you, folks...I just got some new fabric for her cloak (it's not as heavy as the other fabric I used), so I'll be making a new cloak for her soon. I also added a pic of the toy art above in my first post for comparison.

Hi JediJaida, as for her tunic, I went with a close match of the art's color....But I may change it out if I can find a better yellow color (the original action figure's tunic is a somewhat pale yellow). I do have a pale yellow fabric, but I wanted a deeper color. Thank you for the color suggestions.

Oh...And I may add the Pegasus emblem to the tunic somehow too.

I myself, have never really played D&D, even though I loved the LJN action figures. I've also always been fascinated by the sword and sorcery genre.
