I still need to finish his head and find a helmet. (I may yet just sculpt the helmet on, I would rather it be removable) I had some parts from my Bucky Captain America figure that I bought for the shield. I made a mold of his knife, pouches and gun holster. I made the harness with black elastic and glued the parts to it. The uniform and boots are from CTVT, the gun from Cast A Way, and I made the emblem from the custom resources section here at the Museum. I had to move the snaps in a bit to center the chest emblem. The knee pads came from some wrestler figure. All in all, I think it is coming together nicely.

That's really cool. My favorite GI Joe action figure from the 80's and the Anniversary line was the Cobra Trooper. I need about 20 of these customs.

Is that a "Scotty" head beneath that clay???
Besides that. It's looking cool!!! Very crisp. If your up for it. I would try going Vacuform for helmuts. Especially the cobra style helmut.Comment

Thanks for all of your kind comments. I am really looking forward to finishing this one! I wand to make a few of these to take on some future GI Joe customs! BTW, yeah that is a Scottie head. I thought it had a nice 'henchman' vibe to it!Comment

You are truely doing this character justice. It's an excellent idea. Once the figure is done I hope you place him on a custom card or box. Thx for sharing how you made it. Great job!
Would it be possible to take a German soldier helmet and paint it blue for the Cobra helmet? I don't know if one exists and I'm sure you are on top of every option out there. If a Mego figure of God did not exist, it would be necessary for EMCE to invent him.Comment

I think this looks terrific. I 've never understood why Hasbro (or Sideshow for that matter) cannot properly make a 3 3/4" Joe into a 1:6 scale and you nailed it in 1:9 scale. I think Hasbro came closest with HOF Joes, but Sideshow gets overly detailed and/or habitually pick poor models to base their human face sculpts on.Comment

I made something...tadah!!
I am still cleaning the mask portion, to get it all smoothed out...The glass portion of the helmet is a piece of found rounded plastic that I colored with permanent black marker. Anybody have any clear shots of a jetpack? I would like something easy to sculpt.
