Holy cow man! That is awesome! I have given a lot of thought to making those set but always preferred the Palomino as a toy. That Cygnus bridge is outstanding tho. What did you use to construct it?

All you need is a giant glowing meteor!

              thank to everyone.

as you can see, i've made it as a playset, not a diorama.

for me, it's really a toy with a lot of play feature

for exemple door open and close. and the bridge can collapse.

when i made the cygnus battle playset, i have on mind the great battle, not the giant glowing meteor...

i 've some problems to imagine a good play with this kind of item...
about the cygnus bridge, i've trying to recast the original mego playset. of course, i didn't work with vacum form plastic...

I think that the one criticizm I have of this playset, not meaning yours specifically, is that the center cylinder was not Reinhardt's throne, it was the elevator that brought people up to the bridge. By not doing that, Mego missed an opportunity. That said, you could look at incorporating an elevator into your to add to the action possibilities.

I carefully see the movie a lot of time and in fact, mego are right, the elevator is not at this place. at this place you have the reinhardt throne.

the mego playset is accurate ( like my toy are), the only error, as we can call it, are the stairs. no stairs are showing in the movie.

I have only Google at present, and all of the shots I find have the cylinder sticking up with nothing on top of it. I can't find a shot of the throne. Even so, it would make a cool adaptation. I was thinking it would not have to "go" anywhere, just have 2 cylinders, one inside the other, with "doors" that line up when you rotate the outer one to reveal a figure inside.

as you can see in this pictures, and the other one, the throne is near the windows ( like the toy are)

the lift is showing here, it's a pictures from the other side of the room showing that there is no stairs....

I suppose the stairs were a necessary concession to the logic of a childs mind which would wonder how people were supposed to get up there. They do give the sense of a circular room.
