    The accidental custom

Several days ago I decided to get started on a Zorro custom. The image in my mind he's wearing a blousy blacj shirt with poofy sleeves. I dug in my box o fabric, lo & behold I am out of the black stuff I was planning on using. But there was a pile of white stuff. Okay, I'll get a practice run in.

Got the shirt mostly done, not real happy with the collar, but looks okay. I'm thinking "what am I going to do with this glaring white shirt?"

Hmmm. I know! Perfect musketeer shirt. And this head would make a perfect Aramis. Started over, this time using leather as shirt body, thinking it would suffice for a buff coat. But Aramis realy wants to be a clergyman, the leather and white shirt doesn't go with that. Porthos? Described as a big man whose appetite impresses the king. Athos? Head looks great, but I think he would have a classier outfit, rather than rough leather. Sooooo, I give you D'artangon!

Still need to get a Robin head without the mask, and a different set of boots, and a hat.

I'm really digging the renaissance Robin although he needs buccaneer boots....and a leather style cape would look amazing.....

That is really cool!!! I deal with stuff like this too. Sometimes it seems the custom goes in a direction all its own and I'm just along for the ride. Your current custom reminds me of those storyline where they put Batman in different times. All ya need is CTVT black version of the AJ aussie marine and a scale feather from a craft store.
Oh and a Batman in same costume...

The boots & hat are on my wish list but my budget runs pretty dang tight right now.

I've got a list of custom figures I want to do, a medeivel Batman is on the short list

It's just sleeves & a collar attached to a leather vest. I made the pattern out of an index card, but instead of straight sleeves, I flared them out. The I sewed a piece of elastic in the cuff. I scrunched the sleeve material and sewed the elastic shorter than the flared cuff.
