wait 'til they get a load of me

Here's something I've had on the back burner for a long time. It's my crack at the classic Joker. the base of this head is a mashup of the flattworld Uncle Sam and Bela heads. the only things left exposed from the originals are the eyebrows (Sam) and ears (Bela).

This has been a real "two steps forward, one step back" project. Hopefully, I'll be able to finish it soon.

thanks John. that means a lot coming from you. I have moments where I hate it and other times where I think it has potential.

Kind of reminds me of the Joker from the 60's Filmation cartoons. Nice work.

I started with the 70's comic book joker in mind, but it's starting to lean a little towards the filmation version.

Brian, I would paint it up and see what it looks like. At that point you can go ahead and mold it. Then, you get a pour and tweak and mold it again. Just do this till you like the cast enough to run with it. It is hard to tell just how good it is till it is painted. Based on the pics you posted, it could already be perfect.

Good idea John. I've got to finish sculpting the back of the head and then I'll paint it up. Last night I moved the ears forward a bit and tweaked the hairline a little.

thanks Jess. I've determined I can't really do these from scratch, but I can try to make something new existing heads (with limited success).

I do that all the time too. At least this way you're guaranteed about being in scale.
