    Zorro sword

Now that I'm getting into Megos again, I'm not sure where to start, so I thought of making a sword for a Zorro I haven't even contemplated yet....Yeah, yeah, cart before the horse, but it's been so long since I worked in 1/9 scale I thought I'd do something simple first.

        OMG!!!

        That is BEAUTIFUL!!!!

It's way better than the one that Palitoy (the original company that is) made for their Zorro figure.

You're going to HAVE to tell us how you did it!

And whether or not you're going to sell any of these beauties.

Stainless steel blade, the handguard is a metal basket looking bead, then the handle is a trio of small steel beads. I'm working on brass hilts & maybe a handguard.

I made the blade out of a piece of steel I've had in my junk box. I think it was part of a windshield wiper. I've had it in my box of stuff for years waiting for a project. I used a Dremel with a fiberglass cutting blade to shape the tang, and the point. The beads are from Hobby Lobby.

I'm picturing brass bars coming out just under the basket handguard & piece to protect the knuckles, and a brass bead for a pommel. I'm experimenting with etching the brass, got a piece in etching solution. Nothing fancy, but easier than grinding & filing a little bitty piece of metal.

I'm thinking of making up 2 or 3, to have a couple to sell or trade. If I like the way they look. Final "product" will have a leather belt & sheath for it.

            Thanks again for the compliments.

                    Finished!

Finally finished earlier today. I'm working on the scabbard/belt/hanger. I should have them finished tonight and will try to take some photos tonight or maybe tomorrow. With all the fun of getting my sister married off, I'm wide awake @ 2 am.

A question of posting protocal, do pictures of accessory items go in the "Finished Customs" section if you're not doing the whole figure yet?

you could just keep it in this thread since Zorro is still "in Progress" Maybe?
