    Doctor Who Tardis

I actually don't remember Doctor Who as a kid, but the new BBP Who line has generated some interest. I know someone that is a Who fanatic, so I decided to make a Tardis playset for her so she can display the new figures. It's made out of matteboard with the design adhered to the board. The top and bottom caps are removeable so that the Tardis unfolds to reveal its inside. You can see the removed caps in the 2nd photo. What you see is an unfinished version. I still want to tweak the construction some and also add the little light on top. I'm also planning to use a dark edge matteboard so the white edge is no longer visible.

I designed the inside and outside in a 3D graphics program and then manipulated it in PhotoShop. If you have any suggestions, please let me know. Sorry for the bad photos.

    Here are the PhotoShop designs:

It's nice, but shouldn't have K-9 on the wall. There are k-9 figures the right size to go with it.

I agree. The person I'm making it for really wants K-9 in there. I did put K-9 in a different PhotoShop layer, so it'll be easy to remove him if I make myself one. BTW, who makes 1/9 scale K-9s? I'd definitely like one to go with the BBP Who figures.

I could be wrong but I don't recall the inner doors of the Tardis having a step up to exit. I thought the doors came down all the way to the floor.

You're right. I actually had to add the step to maintain the structural integrity of the matteboard panel. You'll notice I had to take quite a few liberties in order to scale down the inside of the Tardis to playset size.

Cool looking K-9 and Dalek. Who's the manufacturer of them. I'd like to try to get some. They look like they're right in scale with Megos.

These are pretty good Mego-scaled Daleks (they're actually slightly bigger than they should be, but they look really imposing next to a T2 Mego!).
"It's sad that governments are chiefed by the double tongues. There is iron in your words of death for all Comanche to see, and so there is iron in your words of life. No signed paper can hold the iron. It must come from men. The words of Ten Bears carries the same iron of life and death. It is good that warriors such as we meet in the struggle of life... or death. It shall be life."

                            Folks..:

I've had some threads on this before ~ Use the Talking Cyberman and Dalek..

The talking Cyberman's about 9", the talking Dalek around 7".. PERFECT for 8" Megos.., plus they look great next to the Denys Tom Baker as well.

The Cyberman's the same height at the Denys line (yes, my Tom looks a tad taller, but it's partially the Big Jim boots I gave him..), so it's a match.

If you wanted a more towering comparison, it's definitely perfect for 8". Plus the fact they both TALK is ultra-cool...

(That's the UK exclusive 'card-holder' TARDIS behind them, 9.5" in height, so it's also perfect for the mego scale).
