    First attempt at sculpting

I'm waiting on some $$ to put in an order with Doc to finish my Space Ghost...... i got bored this weekend and really wanted to work on something. I finally busted out the clay to see what i could do. I was debating on which custom i wanted to do next and i really wanted to try this guy. I also figured it would be a relatively simple sculpt, which would be good for my first attempt. I'll let ya'll guess who this is going to be so i can gauge how good i did. If you recognize him, then at least i'm on the right track ! I still need to do something with the eyes, but i wanted to take a break at this point.

    Things i've learned so far:

-Ears are a $&%!@ to get the same.... thankfully they are on opposite sides of the head .
    - Super Sculpey blends pretty good when applying more clay after baking.
    - The sculpting tools i bought were worth every bit of the $15 that i paid for them.
    - I need better lighting.
    - Taking close up pics of head sculpts makes them look a lot worse than they do to the naked eye.

I'm tackling John Lennon right now and haven't gotten to the ears yet.

Looks good. When you think about it, there really isn't that big of a difference between Spawn and Deadpool.

Mina is the world's first Paranormal Petsitter in the new middle-grade book series by Gary Buettner, MONSTER PETS, coming in FALL 2014 from EMBY KIDS. Spooky adventure that's perfect reading for kids 8-12

There's a lot you can do with a masked head like that - Deadpool, Grendel, bulk him up as Bane...It's a good place to start.

That's why my version of John Lennon has long hair.

Ears are a very delicate thing when sculpting. You almost have to have a system down to get them perfect or you'll have a hell of a time.

A little more progress on him. He's got eyeballs now. Even though i am pleased with how the eyes came out, he doesn't appear very menacing . Maybe i should have made him squinting a little bit. I think i'll leave well enough alone for now though.

Awesome. Maybe you can also do Headpool... the zombie head of the Marvel Zombies Universe Deadpool that's been hanging around Deadpool lately.
