This is outstanding. I'm a sometime scratchbuilder so I can appreciate what must have gone into this. Can't wait to see the finished masterpiece.Comment

Uh, wow. That is beyond cool!
Mina is the world's first Paranormal Petsitter in the new middle-grade book series by Gary Buettner, MONSTER PETS, coming in FALL 2014 from EMBY KIDS. Spooky adventure that's perfect reading for kids 8-12

Thank you for all the kind words!
I wish i had the space myself. This project began as a few consoles on one side, but because one side is virtually a mirror of the other, it made sense to do the entire front cabin. At this point, it takes up about 31" x 38" table space and with an exterior, it would be approx twice that in length, so Chris has decided to skip the exterior. That's a relief for me because that means we're now in the home stretch and he'll get it that much sooner. I'm now in the process of finishing up the final details and chairs, so i'll have this assembled and lit shortly to take some proper pictures at which point i'll update the photo's on the front page. Once again, thank you all for the good cheer!Comment

Chris showed me a couple pics of this before and I was gobsmacked by them. It's like a miniature movie set.Comment

Pictures do not do this ship justice. I had the pleasure of seeing it in person, and cannot believe the amount of detail that went into it.
Outstanding job Matt!!Looking to Buy: Planet Of The Apes

Matt the green background on your last photo looks like it's going to be used for a movie. Stunning! Those who look outside dream. Those who look within awake.

Haha. Good catch, Jess. It is. The ship was built and is sitting on the old green screen i had made in my basement 15 years ago for the 'Apes' short. It's about 8' x 12' x 12' deep. I'm gonna film the ship and replace all the old photoshop work with the new footage. Chris knew i had ulterior motives in getting the ship accurate. I need to shoot it without the chairs, though, because i had used different chairs in the full scale footage. That's okay - it was Brents ship in the film and he may well have had different chairs anyway. I'll add some pics of that ASAP. Should i add them to the end of the thread as Chris suggests? I always thought it would be easier to just go to the first page to see all the pics rather than fish through a million posts. Let me know what you think (and when you will be coming to NY to get in the flick!).Last edited by Matthew Sotis; Mar 29, '11, 11:42 AM.Comment

Matt, you're an inspiration. The Icarus is, by far, my favourite movie spaceship ever, this is a dream.Places to find PlaidStallions online: https://linktr.ee/Plaidstallions
