    Doc Mego Spell Hands HELP

I just got Doc Mego's glow in the dark spell hands… BUT have no idea how to install them on forearms. The spell hands only have small nub at end. I thought they'd have spot on end for pin to slide through. Any help on how to remove existing hands and install spell hands would be much appreciated. Thanks!

From Doc Mego… Grab the existing hand and pull it out of the forearm. There is an arrowhead connection at the wrist that will pop out. The spell hands post can be pushed into the hole in the forearm. You can sand the post down a little if you have trouble pushing it into the hole. I thought I was missing something and didn't want to start tearing out hands and forearms. Thank you Doc!

Be careful they snap really easy!!! I have a pair for my daughter's Dr. Strange figure and they both snapped off sadly and I had to glue them in place.

Thanks for the heads-up on that. I bought the spell hands and body from Doc Mego to help "resurrect" an old Frankenstein of mine. Frankie hasn't faced any rough play yet, but with my young son it's only a matter of time. If disaster strikes with spell hands, at least I'll have original hands to pop back in.

Dont trty popping ANYTHING off untill you warm it.
Personally I prefer a small bowl of water microwaved for about a minute. Let the part you are taking apart warm and soften. To pull out the hands pull on the whole wrist or remove the wrist pin and the take out the hand and pin seperate. Use pliers Carefully, maybe wrapped in a paper towel so as not to make a plier teeth impression.

as it has been said many times "Heat is your friend in customizing."

I'll be sure to do this method in the future. I took original "hands" out by hand and I think I tore a layer of skin off in the process. Wasn't easy but eventually they popped out without breaking. I'll "warm up" any future projects like this.

I learned the hard way. YEARS of cutting with exacto knives . . .

Dont microwave the heads directlly. I melted a custom flocked head the day I got it that way. ( Flocking doesnt like water)
Glad to hear it worked ,

Yeah, but even with heat, be careful -- just the other afternoon, I was trying to swap hands on a figure. Sat both arms in a bowl of boiled water for almost two minutes, popped the right hand off with a little work, but had the left snap at the wrist, leaving the head of the peg in the forearm. Fortunately, I had another arm, er, handy, but I was none too happy about ruining the one.

Eek! Sorry to hear that about the hand/arm operation. Maybe it was beginner's luck that my Frankie hand replacement didn't go haywire like that. Hearing that story, I'll certainly be more careful in any future "operations".
