Working on my Golden Age Hawkman...

Spent a bunch of time on this guy and still not done. Being too picky I guess.
I have changed the boots since this and added the stripes on the side of his shorts.
If anyone is interested, I'll post some of the 'in progress' pictures that let to this point.

The wings actually came from a broken Hawkman figure. That's what gave me the jump start on doing this figure.

The helmet is large, but it's what I was going for. The golden age helmet varied so I had some leeway but the basics were displayed in this one:

Thanks for the support! I am always nervous about showing any of my stuff because I do it so much on the fly.
That's my favorite Happy Days bad boy Potsie under the mask. It'll change eventually.
I am a beginning sculptor and have not perfected any style at all. I am working on a Sandman mask and have to keep restarting. Any tips are always welcome!
This is the hardened milliput pre-paint helmet.

Took a while as I started with the plastic beak and made a wingless helmet. After some sanding, I added the wings. I am not comfortable with sculpting yet so it took a while. As I am not an expert I used a McDonald's toy of some sort that had wings and pressed them for a feather impression.
I suffer for my megos, as I incurred a tremendous knife injury to the finger while shaping the back:

It's there on my middle finger near the joint.
                See it?
                Looks worse in real life.

That looks really cool. Hawkman can be such a tough one to do. You have a great interpretation there.

You sculpt a 100 times better than anything I could ever do.
Don't feel uncomfortable showing off your work, you have nothing to be ashamed of, quite the contrary

Still working on this guy. I get snagged with finishing touches. When that happens I work on another figure to get my mind back in the game. I started on a Sandman that I'll be posting pics of when I finally get this right.
Here's a shot with the boots I went with. Big ones that just seemed right.

I am working on a net and will probably just use that and the mace.

Here's a backside shot showing the drill holes for the wings.

I don't know if I'm doing this right or not. I just go with what makes sense to me.
Any comments or suggestions don't fall on deaf ears!
