I was noticing the sockets/nubs on my Mazinga and just thought that this may have been a fun accessory in the 70s. 
This particular tubing fits the bicep nub like a glove and allows for articulation, and the fist clicks over the hose like a glove perfectly.
This is only an IDEA and of course needs to be fine-tuned, painted, sized, etc.etc., but I think that its pretty neat - kind of like an homage to the 'Tendril Arm' or like an 'Extending Buster Fist' from some of the more strange/campy scenes from the earlier Giant Robo shows. I am going to be tinkering with 'Henshin Cyborg'-type of ideas for my Shoguns - Lobster claws, mammalian limbs, magnets, weaponry, etc. (Lord knows that I cant afford the originals!!)
I hope that you can see what I'm going for as an end product, and that you dont think that I'm totally out in left field -
