    Needed: artwork for some customs(help)

I'm really needing some help with artwrok for some customs I'm working on (megoscott you have a pm).

I'm working on a didalike display but it's scaled for smaller figures than megos, so any art help would be great.

Can someone send him my way? I'd love to get some help (most of you have seen my G.I.JOE command Center custom, so you all know I have ideas). But I'd like to do a small playset that could be used for iron man, spiderman, and perhaps a DC playset for batman, or the superfriends all 3 & 3/4 inch size figures.

Just curious: can you get into specifics of what you have in mind? Does "Dida-like" mean 3 pieces (walls), 4 pieces (walls+floor), or 7 pieces (floor+double-sided walls)? I'm assuming this is a headquarters-type playset (metal walls, big computer screens, consoles)?

And what style are you going for? Slick computer art or cheesy watercolor/marker art?

        Fill us in!

If I gave you Dida art you'd have to cut it all up and rearrange it to fit your playset template and I don't want to see that happen.

You can take a couple of approaches. Go to sites like deviant art or cg society and find artists who do background and environment work you like and commission them to do art for it. You might also look at video game design sites and look for texture artists. You are sure to find people with tons of cool headquarters type art in their portfolios that might be interested in adapting it to fit your playset design.

But you have to be aware that what you are asking is quite a lot. One of my playsets can represent a poster that's 10 inches high and 100 inches wide or more. It's a lot of art that has to be generated and it has to be made with the playset design in mind.

Another approach you could take is to do screen grabs of backgrounds from animated superhero dvds. There's an excellent website that describes this process. Animation backgrounds It takes some work and some digital savvy. mego73 here at the museum did this with POTA and Trek animated series.

          Good luck

You can email me the art I can then shrink it on my computer, (any help megoscott would be great)! [email protected]
