Animatronics..etc...Does anybody know how?

I am working on a sculptural show and I would like to make a few moving pieces. Does anybody know of any sites or films that show you how to either make animatronic things (sound and motion) or any sites show how one could manipulate those holiday creatures to change their voiceboxes or rework their motions etc...
