If you had shown me that sculpt without saying who it was I would've immediately known anyway. That sculpt screams Burgess Penguin to me.

OK guys--trying out a new sculpting technique that I just read up about...you sculpt half of the face, bake it and then sculpt the back half later. He still needs lots of massaging and cleaning up...but he's getting there.

Anyway, here's what I did today, how I packed him up to go to my mom's (have sculpt will travel!!). Thanks, Sharry--I'll tell her for you.

Aw crap. I missed that one. Anyway, it's good practice.

Thanks. Very informative. I'll post what I've massaged later tonight. I'm hanging out at my mom's because she has vertigo.

I think I'm the expert here (he posted modestly...), and those pix will serve you well, Jess.

Buzz was about 58 when he played Penguin. He wore a dark wig in the earliest episodes but later dyed his hair. His monocle was secured by spirit gum--you can see he doesn't squint much to hold it in, and it doesn't have a cord attached as most traditional monocles do.

I have some references, but they aren't really any better than what T-bolt has graciously posted. As far as nose length goes, I think it's comparable to the Mego Penguin, but more aquiline/triangular.

Steve Martin's Roxanne is also a good reference for how to make a pointy nose look pretty realistic...

Oh thanks, guys! I needed to know how long to make his schnoz. He's much younger in this photo I was using:
