Walked over to Ace hardware today and looked for a dark blue spray paint. Now I could have purchased a $2.50 can of enamel and gone "not good enough", or I could go all out with the Krylon metalic dark blue for $8. I wish these pics could show just how Blue this paint is. Yet, just like the 40s Tail Dragger, my pics are coming out dark. I need to get better lighting.

I took another approach on this custom than the 40s Tail Dragger. On this one I dremeled out the rivits and disassembled the body. Once complete, I'll glue it back together. I didn't do this on the 40s version because I had to blend the body and chassis together at certain points.

Nice...looking forward to seeing more in progress and completed pictures. I picked up a couple of small Mach 5's for a buck each at Dollar Tree yesterday.

No, this is the small size Hot Wheels that sell for a buck on card. Same size as the Tail Dragger 40s Batmobile I'm working on.
I saw a pic once of the Resaurus 1999 Mach 5 playset customed into a batmobile, and thought it was good idea for my Hot Wheels customs.

started a topic Hot Wheels "Second Wind" into a 70s Batmobile

Hot Wheels "Second Wind" into a 70s Batmobile

Inspired by a costomized action figure vehicle, I used the closest thing Hot Wheels did to a Mach 5. I plan to go with midnight blue as the base color.
