I think the biggest difference is that the zica body will be factory produced... mine will be churned out one at a time.

I painted it in gold to check for some detail imperfections.

For my own personal edification, how does painting it gold help with this?

the gold happened to be the only spray paint I had available (I started with yellow, but ran out). In the unpainted state, it's not easy to see imperfections in the sculpting material. and since this body is made up of different parts blended together, the seams were getting harder to detect. When I painted the parts it gave me a good idea of where fingerprints, edge lines, etc were. It basically shows me what a cast part will look like.

And Fred, I do not plan to cast in gold. Probably just flesh tone and white.

They just look like two entirely different bodies to me. The chests, pelvis, legs, the body shapes.

Now if by similar you mean they are both 8 inches, then I agree with you there

Yeah, I did originally say "SOME similarities" in the original post, and you're quite correct... 8" scale is one of them... We BOTH noticed that one... :

I cannot see what you'll come up with for the skinny body! I'm currently hard at work on my skinny body too, so it'll be interesting to see what directions we take this into!

and for cost... honestly, I don't know yet. I'll need to see how many parts I can get out of a batch of casting material. I'd like to be around $30 for less for an entire body, but that may be optimistic.

if anyone is interested in complete bodies, please pm me (I'll do individual parts later). I want to get an idea of how many to cast in the first batch. My guess the number will be pretty low. I'm thinking $25-30 for a completely strung together body. I won't be taking any money now, I just want to know the level of interest.
