I spent a few hours sculpting again. I was scared, but I like my progress so far. Whew. It's 1:6 scale but these can be shrunk eventually. I know he's not an ape, but I need the practice...and this quote freaked me out:

It has been said: miss a day of practice and you will notice. Miss two days and your audience will notice.
Carsia is on the backburner. I am not happy with her paints--not smooth enough. She needs tons more paint on her. I thought she was done but I guess she's still a work in progress.
Here is Link's current condition. I had to re-do his face to fit on a smaller body. He looks like an alien. I think that used to be a Lone Ranger body.
Wow is what I have to say!!!!For reading this thread for 30 mintues now have to say your work is awesome!!!The best ape sculpts that I have seen by far!!!!
I'm ready to fire up this guy before I mess him up. His nose is super fragile and I'm afraid just one wrong move would spell disaster...which is why I'm so itchy to cure him now.
I was sooo disgusted with the paint snafu that happened today that I decided to devote my time in sculpting Cornelius. I still have to clean up his face a little bit and smooth it out some--possibly make his lower muzzle smaller. I'll take a break now and see how I feel tomorrow. Had a difficult time trying to get the exact angle of the sculpt to match with the reference photo so I gave up.
My husband asked when I was going to quit doing "this ape stuff"
Maniacal laughter spewed from within.
Don't ever stop! You are talented and have a gift with these apes. You love doing this stuff as much as I love doing the super hero stuff. It's the creativity within. I love your work!!
