    Here is a comparison shot of Apemania's Zira and mine. I'm going to re-do the hairline at the cheeks. I always do that wrong when I am in full ape gear.

    To do list:
    1:6 boots for Mathilda, 1:1 Romulan Commander outfit, Ursus helmet; Cornelius appliance
    1:9 scale ape's new suit for Cornelius;

        I can't today. I just had minor dental surgery (I am now sporting three stitches on my gums) and I'm not supposed to physically exert myself and need to keep my head propped up. I'll finish them tomorrow.

            Are you going to mold this? I may be in the market for one.

              I gotta say, I think your Zira looks better than Apemania's. Great job!

                She's not done yet...so until I crank out foam latex, I won't know. My husband says the Apemania Zira looks masculine compared to mine, and he's not an ape fan. I am almost ready to run some foam latex but I still need just a few minor purchases to make it happen.

                      Here are the tools I used to sculpt her, in case you were wondering.

                              Thank you. I just want her to be perfect. Today if the weather cooperates, I'm going to try to pour the other half of the gypsum mold and give it a day or so to set. I bought "skin tight" disposable gloves that are still too big, but it will be better than the first time I poured the ultracal.

                              Then I will need to clean off the clay from the gypsum molds as gingerly as possible without scratching the molds. The molds will go into my oven for a few hours at about 200 degrees to dry out any of the trapped water, and once they're cooled off I will wrap them in plastic to keep them dry and ready for the next phase.

                              Still waiting for my standing mixer to arrive, so that I can buy the appropriate sized mixing bowls from Goodwill. I think I have almost everything now to start the foam latex.
