I'm ready to bake her. I took some artistic liberties with the back of her head, since I sculpted from memory, but I like her a lot. I know she will look spectacular when painted!! I'll have to figure out how to build up her neck after she's done baking. I don't want to mess her up now. I thought I could sculpt in her braids, but I failed miserably...so I ended up rolling out worms of clay and braiding that. A clay extruder would have been cool, but I didn't have any. :(

Finished version looks slightly different...took one quick peak on YouTube and decided to simplify the sides of her hair-do--got rid of the band, etc.

So here I am again practicing. I still have to fluff up his hair and figure out how the back looks. It's been quite a long time since I have viewed TOS...wondering which episode he shows up in so that I could at least YouTube it...and study the back of his head.

Great job as always, I agree with everyone here you are way to hard on yourself. Every sculpt you have posted has been AWESOME!

I was thinking about giving sculpting a try, what do you use?

Highly recommended! It's so much fun. I use Super Sculpey, which does not have to be conditioned before working with it...bake it in the oven to cure. Sometimes you have to work in layers (like Link's shield) but with most head sculpts you don't. I use the $7 pack of hardwood sculpting tools but toothpicks, needles, non-working pens will also work. I just found out that you could use a paintbrush to help smooth out the clay, which helps between crevices. I thought you had to first dip the brush in alcohol, but you don't have to!!

What use is T'Pau without Stonn? I'm going to try and make T'Pring too. Maybe I should make her bald and glue on real hair. Hmmm...possibilities are endless.

Cool! And you said you didn't sculpt humans, (well technically they're Vulcans, but humanOIDs, so it counts!)

T'Pring, but very rough. I have to figure out how to work the back of her hair (YouTube is not the best for capturing minuteau!). And she looks a lot bigger than I had anticipated...so I will need to massage her a little bit smaller. It's so addictive, this sculpting. I better stop for a few weeks so I can bang out some 1:6 scale outfits. Not my cup of tea at the moment, but it's got to be done.
