aside from costume/head. what do i need bodywise? and does it come with hands and feet? anyone built one?

That really depends on what Flash you want to make.
Simple red body suit, gloves...etc. Paul Clark (Dr. Mego) gave me this idea and I did it all myself. I am not sure what else he sells anymore since the C&D bull**** but you could ask.
The red body suit was way too baggy and the neck didn't come around the neck. So my seamstress friend, tightened up the suit and brought the neck in closer.
The logo I printed out from the computer onto expensive photo paper. I cut it out and glued it accordingly to the doll.
The belt is my design. I made it out of a sheet of yellow plastic, cut it out with a razor blade knight and glued it along the waist.
I also did a Jay Garrick Flash. Dr. Mego sold me this cool helmet (still on his site) and he combined two body suits.
The belt is from a Bratz doll.

I used a spiderman body cause I wanted red hands. The sky is the limit with customs. Basically what ever you are after, you can get somehow. Here is mine. I believe it is a Brian Leitner head, and box by Toyroom, suit by me.

My Flash (left) was originally built entirely from Doc's parts (w/a Leitner suit). Not sure what he has available now, but you could check.
The head, obviously not blonde, I think came from somebody in the Robin Hood line, Will maybe? I think I was just diggin the chops and decided no one would ever see his hair anyway. But I'm sure you can find a suitable blonde head if you were to go the RC route. I used a ctvt Richie Cunningham for my RC Cap, which is blondish, same cowl, slightly dif fit. Plus that big goofy grin might look a little odd on Flash, but I think it's perfect for the big red, white and blue.
