mjego Doom

Anybody know if there is a discussion of the mego Dr. Doom vs. Iron Man headsculpt. I seem to remember seeing a 'recipe' for the classic coulda been Doom using the IM head with the note that IM was a modified (perhaps only repainted?) Doom sculpt?

Yes...Ironman was original going to be Doc Doom(which is why He has a Nose)...but for a couple of price points...Mego scrapped Doom, and turned Him into Ironman.

I was looking for a site that showed - I think it was Doc Megos? custom with a sort of 'how to' recipe for the character. Thought I had that page bookmarked, but can no longer find it.

Actually the Ironman head sculpt is 100% correct for when it was sculpted. Ironman indeed had a nose from issue #68(June 1974)thru issue#85(april 1976). All of his appearances in every other Marvel title during this time featured the nose.Mego commisioned the sculpt during this time. He was allways intended to be Ironman!
