    Head Project - Revisited

I posted the below a few weeks ago and appreciate all the various opinions. I'm now looking for someone to take on the project. Hoping a little tweaking of the sculpt, hair and a new paint job might improve things. I'm not starting completely over and I'm not going to give the doll as is. Les and Chan Ada have been mentioned. Can someone recommend anyone else and provide contact information if possible. Much appreciated.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------

As this project doesn't involved anybody on this board I would really like your frank opinion on the following. First is the picture of the person, second is the sculpt, third is painted head, fourth is with hair.

The initial sculpt looks pretty good to me. However, the likeness
seemed to lose something once it was painted. I can't say what or why. I
assumed at the time it needed some hair. But now with hair it looks even
less like her to me. What specifically could help this project? I'm rather disappointed as is.

Les and Ada are probably the best out there at capturing the likeness of a person, not sure why neither of them are good enough for you.

Who said they weren't good enough??? There can be many reasons why I'm looking at all options and none of which has anything to do with their competency. Amazing.

Her face is very symmetrical. The sculpt is pretty good on it's own, but you're right it, doesn't capture the girl at all.

It seems like the heads basic shape isn't quite right. The painted version makes her head too round. The eyes look too far apart, and the nose looks a little swollen. In my experience, even a tiny change will make the person look like someone else. Perhaps someone could play with the sculpt in photoshop to figure out what is wrong. Maybe overlay the sculpt with the picture for comparison, then go from there once you figure out what it needs.

I think this is why the hair didn't help, because the face isn't right. Also the hair material looks too course, but I don't know much about the different materials available.

Ada has done some of the most accurate work I have ever seen. Really nails it.

I am trying to be helpful not negative or insulting, so please don't take the criticism wrong. Good luck and please show the final, when you are happy with it.

I don't know what your problem is but I don't appreciate your flippant remarks. If you don't have anything positive to add to this thread don't post in it.

Build up the top of the head (to put the eyes in the middle of the head instead of the top third), raise the ears (to make the tops even with the eyebrows), and you'd be well on your way to correcting the situation.

I'm hearing you Hulk long with all the other comments. As I said in the initial thread in this post I "appreciate all the various opinions". But I'm not a sculptor or a painter so at this point I looking for someone who might be willing to take on the project.
