I don’t know if this is a good suggestion or not. I’ll let others judge. I am an occasional amateur customizer. One thing that I think the head market currently lacks are old school Mego heads. I prefer my stuff to look like it came from 1974. For a time there was a customizer that offered a large array of old school Mego heads many from a modified Captain America head. Half masked heads with and without ears, horns added made for a great Daredevil head, goggles for Wonderman or Giant Man, visor for Cyclops, and others. Guy was truly elite and I miss those old school heads. I wonder if others feel the same or if that era has passed and folks are more interested in highly detailed heads?Comment

George Peppard!
I'd make Banacek, but he's good for a bunch of characters. A-Team, Battle Beyond The Stars, etc.Comment

I really like Jmass' idea of the 1974 look and the more generic look, it would allow for the heads to be used in a wider variety of figures. This is could either be a wave on it's own or maybe add a couple at a time with each wave of heads and accessories you produce.
A couple of other ideas could be to extend the 1966 Batman figures to include Sandman, Clock King, and Circe or maybe add to the 70's Marvel and DC collections with characters like Nomad, Swordsman (Marvel) or Animal Man and or the New Gods (DC)Comment

This was fun and got me excited again for more customs. Thanks to all who participated! Some ideas were things I wasn't really familiar with. Some ideas seemed beyond my ability to successfully execute. But all were great ideas and I enjoyed reading all of them.
In the end, one suggestion just really spoke to me as a figure I needed in my collection: Blade Runner. What a great idea. It just takes me back to being a nerdy kid, going to conventions and reading Starlog. I'm planning to lean into that and pair with some other classic sci-fi movies, like Aliens and Mad Max.
A lot of work ahead... but I'm excited. I plan on posting updates to the "in progress" section, so if these sound cool to you, be sure to follow along!
And now... the contest winners...
Maybe the main characters from the Stargate: SG-1 series? I know of a seller on EBay did both O’Neil (from the movie) and O’Neill (from the series, whom I bought) and Colonel Mitchell/actor Ben Browder. However, you can’t find heads for Teal’c, Daniel Jackson, Samantha Carter, General Hammond, etc...
Maybe 8 inch scale Twiki and Tina (the robots) heads from Buck Rogers in The 25th Century (perhaps with printed hands and feet)? I’ve been puzzling how to make them in 8 inch scale and I know I can make little outfits that look like their bodies, it’s just their heads, hands, and feet that are issues (mostly their heads and hands).

Thanks for the great Blade Runner suggestion! I want to hook you up with a head as well. PM me as well.Comment
