Ideas on sewing a Star Wars Imperial Officer uniform?

Does anyone have any experience with sewing a Star Wars Imperial Officer uniform? I was just struck with the idea of doing on in 1:8 scale.

Kenner really dropped the ball by making the figures so teeny tiny.

Never mind the larger dolls, as a rule, they sucked eggs.

The only one that I have that I like is the Qui-Gon Jinn doll, and even then they didn't do that well.

Any ideas?
