And even if it DOES---then it must be noted that that mentality has nothing to
do with "art" anyway. It has to do...again... with exclusivity or collectibility.

    What's "toy" like about that?

There's no argument here as far as I'm concerned...no debate.

A good figure is a good thing.

An easier to make figure is...a good thing...better than a figure that is HARDER to make.

    The ends justify the means.

Everything else...all arguments to the contrary are pretentious stances.

Give the people what they want.

The best toys for the lowest prices.

These digital rendering machines, and the options they provide, make this goal
more possible than any "artist" (as defined in this thread) ever could.

These are some very good Words right here.
This is all that really matters. People Only want the Best when It comes to a customer stand point & a Buyers Market with any of this,... as well as thier respective collections. This new Found Machine (if you will) ,.. Will enable people to get more so quality characters of there beloved Choice for more so character likeness. If this idea of Figures ever does make it to this formate,.. it will sell,.. no matter what anyone wants to say about it in this thread.

BK---thanks for the words of acknowledgement---

and, misterdroid---your addressing of my post and your rethinking of some previous
      stances is much appreciated.

I sent you a private message---but I can sum it up best here by saying something I didn't
actually say in the PM---and that is that sometimes when we oppose an idea, one
of the best things we can do before acting on that feeling is to search deeper within our
psyche to see what the motivation is behind WHY we're opposing it---

The same goes for understanding the opposing group's view---(for example)
just WHY are people excited about this 3d printing?---it's because it'll make
the "world of customizing" --whether you're an artist or a collector---easier
      to manuver around in----

      ---sounds win/win to me personally.

If these things ever get to the price of the 25 dollar printer I have sitting on my desk here, then I'll get one. And is this reall all that new? Seems like they used one in Jurrasic Park 3.

I've let the "cat out of the bag" regarding my custom MEGO-scaled 1966 Batmobile project.

Check out this thread in the Customs in progess section.

You'll see really quick how that applies to what we're discussing here...
