    Custom un PC Superfriends

I just did a search & found a customizer, Black Knight, (awesome job by the way!) who did a Super Samurai from the old Superfriends cartoon - Black Vulcan, Apache Chief, etc. And got me wondering if anyone has done any custom Megos based on the updated more PC versions that were on the the JLU cartoon?

    Apache Chief - Longshadow
    Samurai - Wind Dragon
    Black Vulcan - Juice
Note: on Black Vulcan - they wanted to use Black Lightning, but DC was fighting with the creator over rights

Also, there was a Brazilian (Rima the jungle girl) & Central American (El Dorado) cahracters.

I think El Dorado actually became a regular DC hero named Extrano from a poor selling title named the New Guardians - hispanic magician and similar color scheme. I heard DC had a character named Jaguar from South America, but I don't think she was based on Rima, but similar powers. Apache Chief was kindof represented in the JLA by a character named Manitou Raven he didn't grow as I recall, but was a shaman type character. He did use Apache Chief's saying inuk chuk or whatever it was.

I thought it was a cool homage that the JLU cartoon did without the stereotypes of the 70's Superfriends.

Anyways, any links to any of the old Superfriends or newer updates?

Rima actually pre-dates her appearance on Superfriends with her own DC Comic series. Apparently Rima was also a character from the movie "Green Mansion".

El Dorado and Extrano are two different characters.

Oh I know they are 2 different characters, but I thought I read somewhere online that Extrano was based/inspired by El Dorado like Manitou Raven was inspired by Apache Chief. Probably not canon, just some guys opinion - I probably read it on the DC boards. Here is a link to jog people's memories of the un PC Superfriends & their updates:

I just looked up Rima on Wikipedia, she is a very old character - circa 1904. I knew she had a short lived comic in the 70's, but didn't realize she was before that.

I was way off with the Jaguar reference (probably read that on the DC boards as well) she was an Archie Comics line character later revamped by DC on their Impact line according to Wikipedia.

Right again on Jaguar. Wikipedia says he was in Peru on an archaeological dig so I am assuming with the name Ralph Hardy he was American or possibly British. Do you know if the female Jaguar was US American or South American? Doesn't say on Wikipedia. I'll see if I can find any other info on the web,

            Found this link at: http://www.adherents.com/lit/comics/Jaguar.html

Says 2nd Jaguar was from Brazil - must be the connection the person on the DC board was stretching to. She doesn't look anything like Rima though or have a similar origin except both are from Brazil, female and feral like powers sort of. Jaguar has catlike powers more like the Cheetah & Rima is basically a female Tarzan.

After reading the first issues of the !mpact comics, I avoided the rest like the plague. So I really don't have much background information on them for you.

I enjoyed The Fly, and to a lesser extent, The Shield.

To this day, I really miss the art of the late Mike Parobeck, who drew the Impact Fly & later, a JSA re-launch.

It'd be nice to see customs of the Archie/Impact characters.

BTW, was Impact's Fireball an Archie update, too?
