Replacing Mego Knee Joints/Pins

Hey Mego Brothas & Sistas! I was searching the forum for Mego Knee Pins replacement tutorial and couldn't find any...

I have a 12" Mego with a broken pin at the knee joint. I bought replacement pins from Classic TV Toys but now the question is how I get the pin components to snap one with the other...

Although I've not done it on a 12 inch figure, for the 8 inch figures, I put the pin in place and wrap a washcloth around it. This is to protect the plastic from tool marks. Using plyers on the wide setting, gently squeeze until you feel the pin pop into place.
