    Looking for M65 Military Jacket

    Hello!

I plan on doing a Travis Bickle Mego figure from Taxi Driver...
And i thought... there HAS TO BE a M-65 lookalike Jacket in mego size... as there was also action Jackson and similar stuff going on back then...
but i have absolutely no luck finding one.

Maybe someone of you guys have an idea ?

BTW. I know there is a Taxi Driver mego figure already... but the aftermarket prices are a bit too expensive for me

THANK YOU VERY MUCH IN ADVANCE!

I have a Taxi Driver in the works myself. Not really my thing but I got a free head from Juanimal and I'm not going to let it go to waste.

Finding an Army jacket has been rough. I found this at CTVT's sister site wrestlingsuperstore.com. It's not an exact replica of an M65 but I think It will work for a custom Mego style figure. Oddly, it's not offered for sale at CTVT.

I think that's leftover stock from the old Stooges line they did, I think it might be on the small side.

It fits OK but it needs a bit of work. For some reason they only sewed the Velcro on one side and it is very hard to close the jacket properly. Here's a mock-up with the jacket on a Zica Type-S body.

This jacket is from CTVT as well and might work.

I removed the brown color with Rit color remover and dyed it green. It still needs another dip but I think I like the fit a little better.
Neither are a perfect match for the M65 but that's all I got at the moment.

How about the AJ Jungle Safari...but dye it green:

And because of all their tears,
Their eyes can't hope to see
            The beauty that surrounds them
            Isn't it a pity".

              ^That's my vote.

There's also a Marx safari jacket that might work.

Yep...That actually would be better. Nice suggestion.

Horshack's jacket seems like a good option. I like the cut of the jacket even though it is missing pockets. My only concern would be the Sweat Hogs sticker. Can it be removed without damaging the jacket and would there be a residue left from the glue?

Depending on the sticker glue, it maybe an issue a little lighter fluid would solve. Mattel's WBK dolls are in a 9 inch scale, therefore, my concern would be how big this jacket looks on this custom.

It's a shame the G.I.Joe Talking Commander is the wrong size. His jacket looks like it might be close.
