    Converting Playmates Trek to Mego

Has anyone successfully converted those nine inch Star Trek guys that Playmates made onto mego bodies?
I'm curious how their heads fit and whether the clothes are baggy.
I bought Bele and Trelane and not sure whether to leave them alone or body swap.
    Any advice from my friends??

This thread may hold the answers. Might have to buy some older CTVT toys and use the plugs to convert the Playmates figures to Mego:

    Hope this helps.

Thank you. I didn;t think to search as I'm not surprised this had come up before.

      Thanks again!

Thanks to the advice from Blue Meanie I successfully converted two playmate 9 inchers onto mego bodies. I'm very happy with the results. The reverse neckplug technique was easy.

Glad I could help. Those look really nice. Even though they were for 9 inch figures...they look perfect on those bodies. Are those Doc bodies or original Mego Bodies?

Not to throw a wrench in the works, but it was to my understanding that the 9 inch playmates clothing were a bit to large and bulky for the 8 inch mego's? unless they were shrunk down slightly, this info mind you did come from a member a little ways back.

These pics assuming they are on mego bodies and I think they are, look a little to big especially Trelane but Bele looks fine to me, so between these pics and the earlier info, it's
getting me confused, if I know for sure playmates clothes fit original mego bodies, I can pick up loose cheap TNG figures and dress my nude TNG customs which I have on original Trek bodies.

I shrunk a Trellane head years and years ago. The jacket was a bit too big, but I used it anyway and it looks fine. I think I used the pants as well but the only thing keeping them on is a pair of Klingon boots.

The heads unshrunken are too big, but thanks to the mind washing from FTC, the original Mego Trek heads are now too small!!
Expectation is the death of discovery.

Thanks for the post. To clarify, the clothes on the 9 inch playmates obviously don't fit snug on an 8 inch body however the Cheron and Trelane clothes fit fine. The pants aren't falling down and the sleeves aren't hanging over top of their hands. A little baggy as you pointed out but I'm happy to use them without any alterations. You may find Trelane's jacket hangs too low for your liking but again, I'm totally fine with how they turned out. The heads are no bigger than Captain Pike.

Might pick up a Talosian and try to put on a Lion Rock body next. Thanks for looking.
